“HADSOMPAN GREEN & CREATIVE FAIR” Empowers Had Sompan Community Toward a Sustainable Grassroots Economy
The College of Politics and Government, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, continues its commitment to strengthening local economies by organizing the “HADSOMPAN GREEN & CREATIVE FAIR: Community Creative Market” on Sunday, 12 July 2026, at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Had Sompan Subdistrict, Mueang Ranong District, Ranong Province. The event was held under the concept of promoting grassroots economic development based on the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and the BCG (Bio-Circular-Green Economy) Model, with the aim of generating sustainable income while preserving the environment.
The event was filled with energy and vibrant community participation. Activities began with participant registration, followed by visits to the community marketplace and the Green Community Exhibition, which showcased the community’s strengths and development potential. Visitors also enjoyed traditional cultural performances by local youth from Had Sompan Village, including “Rattanasin Thin Ranong” and “Rabam Ron Rae (Mineral Panning Dance)”, both of which beautifully reflected the area's unique identity, way of life, and cultural heritage.
The opening ceremony was officially presided over by Mr. Witharat Ramun, Deputy Governor of Ranong Province. Associate Professor Police Lieutenant General Dr. Santhan Chayanon, Dean of the College of Politics and Governance, delivered the opening report and outlined the objectives of the event before the Deputy Governor formally declared the fair open. The symbolic opening ceremony highlighted the strong collaboration among academic institutions, government agencies, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
The fair also featured a variety of engaging activities, including the Creative Community Market, environmental management exhibitions, and demonstrations of community innovations such as plastic waste management and the conversion of plastic waste into fuel oil. Another significant highlight was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on research collaboration and academic services between the College of Politics and Governance and the Had Sompan Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The partnership aims to jointly advance sustainable community development through research, innovation, and academic engagement. Certificates of appreciation were also presented to participating entrepreneurs and community members.
In addition, visitors participated in creative community workshops, watched demonstrations of locally made products, shopped for community goods, enjoyed live musical performances by local youth, and took part in prize draws throughout the day. These activities created an atmosphere of happiness, learning, and creative tourism while fostering stronger community engagement.
The “HADSOMPAN GREEN & CREATIVE FAIR” represents another important milestone in the integration of cooperation among higher education institutions, government agencies, local organizations, and community networks. The initiative seeks to strengthen the grassroots economy, enhance the value of local products, and promote sustainable community development through the BCG Economy Model and the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy, contributing to the long-term sustainable development of Ranong Province.
