On February 9–10, 2026, the Justice Innovation Development Division of the Ministry of Justice organized a legal knowledge training and consultation program to improve the quality of life of inmates at the Thonburi Women's Correctional Institution.
The program featured speakers including Assistant Professor Thanawat Pisitjinda and Mr. Jaturong Permrungreang, lecturers from the Law Program at the College of Politics and Government, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, along with Ms. Rittisa Thepchomphu, an independent legal professional. A total of 40 inmates participated in the training.
The training focused on providing practical legal knowledge relevant to daily life in order to enhance understanding of rights, duties, and the justice process. The lectures covered fundamental legal topics such as criminal law, principles of criminal procedure, property law, family and inheritance law, laws on the prevention and suppression of technology-related crime, narcotics law, corrections law, pardon law, and expungement law, alongside legal case consultations.
In addition, practical activities were conducted by dividing the inmates into two groups of 20 participants each. The participants practiced drafting petitions for obtaining copies of court judgments with fee waivers and petitions for extending the time to file appeals in criminal cases, using actual forms applied in practice. The speakers provided guidance on legal language, principles, and procedures under criminal procedural law. The inmates showed strong interest and were able to carry out the activities effectively.
