Community fieldwork activity of third-year students in the Public and Private Administration track, Public Administration program, College of Politics and Government.

“Knowledge Transfer from Local Wisdom in the Community” (Knowledge Management: KM), a course in Learning Organization Management, presented to Asst. Prof. Dr. Phudit Nokkhunthod.

The activity took place in Ban Bat Community, Pom Prap Sattru Phai District, Bangkok.

Ban Bat Community is a small community that has preserved the traditional craftsmanship of hand-making monks’ alms bowls for over 250 years. It is considered the only community in Thailand that continues to uphold this heritage despite the changes of time and technological advancement.

The activity also covered Ban Bu Community in Bangkok Noi District, Bangkok.

Ban Bu Community, located along Khlong Bangkok Noi near Thonburi Railway Station, is another community in Bangkok known for its long-standing local craftsmanship. It is home to the traditional “khan long hin” (stone-polished metalware) production of Jiam Sangsattha Factory, the only factory in Thailand—and the only one in the world—that still produces this craft. This tradition has been passed down for more than 200 years and represents a form of local wisdom that is now at risk of disappearing, along with other community heritage practices.
