Election Commission Hosts Academic Seminar on Life Skills for Promoting Democracy and Preparing Youth as Quality Citizens at Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok

Academic Seminar on “Life Skills to Promote Democratic Ways to Prepare Youth to Become Quality Citizens” Held by the Election Commission Office at Rama Gardens Hotel, Bangkok

The Election Commission Office organized an academic seminar under the topic “Life Skills to Promote Democratic Ways to Prepare Youth to Become Quality Citizens” as part of the activity to extract lessons for driving initiatives to strengthen quality citizenship in educational institutions. The seminar was held at Rama Gardens Hotel, Vibhavadi Rangsit, Bangkok.

Distinguished speakers included:

  • Mr. Veera Yeeprae, Deputy Secretary-General of the Election Commission
  • Mr. Veera Kaengkasekan, Inspector General of the Ministry of Education and Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education
  • Dr. Tanin Grothipong, Secretary of the Council of Rajabhat University Presidents of Thailand
  • Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aphisedkorn Suwansaaad, Vice President of Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, representing the Council of Rajamangala University Presidents of Thailand
  • Mr. Asawin Khoma-uth, Director of the Bureau of Vocational and Professional Standards

The seminar was moderated by Mr. Ruslan Mayuso, a third-year student, and Mr. Thitisak Phithaktham, a second-year student.

This activity aimed to extract lessons learned from implementing programs to enhance knowledge and understanding of democracy with the King as Head of State within educational institutions. The Election Commission Office has collaborated with 85 universities and 508 schools under the Office of Primary, Secondary, and Vocational Education Service Areas to conduct activities promoting quality citizenship.

Participants included representatives from universities, primary schools, secondary schools, and vocational institutions; directors of provincial and Bangkok Election Commission offices or their representatives; and directors or representatives from the five Citizen Participation Promotion Centers — totaling 321 participants.
